How to get an Income Certificate

Purpose
Income certificate is issued by the Government as a proof of all source information with respect to the income of a person. This certificate can be used to avail tax relaxation at the time of property purchase or any other service. Students may use this certificate while applying for scholarship/fees concession for their higher education or at the time of school/college admission within the same state. The income certificate is mandatory for applying to new ration card and for many other schemes.
Documents Required
- Aadhar Card
- Ration Card
- Latest Salary Certificate (if employed)
- Income Proof (like IT Return, Pension papers, or employer certificate)
- Latest Land Tax Receipt

Procedure
The applicant has to apply through the eDistrict portal or throgh Akshaya Centers. The application will be forwarded to the Village Office for verification. The Village Officer verifies the income details based on submitted documents and local inquiry if needed. The report is submitted to the Tahsildar, who approves and issues the Income Certificate. The certificate can then be downloaded from the eDistrict portal. or through the same Akshaya Centers.
Time Frame to issue the Certificate:
6 days from the date of application
