How to get a Possession Certificate

Purpose:

Possession certificate is issued only for the purpose of obtaining subsidy and loan for housing and other legal purpose and not valid for any other purpose.

Documents Required

Aadhar Card
Ration Card
Land Tax Receipt (latest)
Title Deed / Ownership Document
If Title Deed is not available:
- Registered Will / Partition Deed / Gift Deed
- Other supporting ownership proof
If Title Deed is in bank photostat copy of Title Deed and letter from the bank

For a specified minimum period

Procedure

The applicant must apply online through the eDistrict portal or through Akshaya Centers. The application is forwarded to the Village Office for verification. The Village Officer checks the land tax receipts, deed, and local records. A field inquiry may be conducted if necessary to confirm possession. After verification, the Tahsildar approves the application, and the Possession Certificate is issued online. The applicant can download it from the portal using the application number or through the same Akshaya Centres.

7 days from the date of application
